Standardized Testing

IS IT REALLY BENEFITING US?

Standardized testing was originally created due to the No “Child Left Behind Act” (2002) and its purpose was to determine which students needed more attention. However according to the National Research Council there is no evidence that standardized testing positively affects students and in fact the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) studies have shown that it actually produces negative effects. In office, Full Spectrum will work to remove all standardized testing practices and procedures from the public school system effectively and immediately. Alternatively, in order to keep the 2002 No Child Left Behind Act effective, schools will make use of the teacher assessments with taking into account of their grades. This will make sure that we can still help the students in need of extra help, but without the negative effects of standardized testing.
